The dinner was given by the graduates of Howard University, that great seat of learning
in Washington, D.C., who are friends of the distinguished gentleman and his wife, and
who while students at the University came under their kindly care and influence and
were benefited by their kindly assistance.
Besides honouring and welcoming Rev. Dr. Wiseman and Mrs. Wiseman, the function
also served the purpose of a reunion between the graduates who are practising their
medical and dental professions gained at Howard in various parts of the island.
