Graduates As Dentist

PORT ANTONIO, Nov. 18.

Relatives and friends of Dr. Aston B. Cooper will be glad to know that he had recently passed
the New York State board of Dentistry
Examination: and is at present negotiating
a location to open an office in that city. Dr.
Cooper is a son of the late Dr. A.T. Cooper who
was one of the most prominent and respected
dentists of Kingston, and  the oldest graduate of Howard University, Washington D.C., up to the time of his death.
The young doctor like his father attended
Howard University from which he was
graduated in June 1940 incidentally the day
on which his mother Mrs Emily Cooper died.
After leaving College he served a year of internship at the Forsyth Dental Infirmary in
Boston, Massachusetts, returning to New York
in August of this year.
He sat for the State board in September and
received his license in October.

Dr Cooper snr worked with Dr J Robert Love, the leading Black politician in
Jamaica between 1890 and 1914, and supported his newspaper the Jamaica Advocate.
